     Ari, woke suddenly due to screams echoing down the hall. He sat up and listened...were his ears mistaking him or did he hear the clash of swords.The elf jumped out of bed and grabbed his bow and  quiver. He slung the quiver over his back as he raced out into the hall. A terrible sight met his eyes. A wizard, one of his best friends lay dead on the floor, blood soaked his robes. Beside him were two maids weeping over his body.
    "What happened," asked Ari,his voice shaking slightly out of fear.
    "A group of drow," one sobbed."They've gone mad. He tried to fight but it was ten on one."
    Ari heard footsteps coming. He strung his bow and knocked an arrow, pointing it at the end of the hall where shadows masked whoever was standing there.
    A drow stepped out of the shadows. His black hair and eyes made him look strangely like a wraith.
    Ari released his arrow. The drow leapt out of the way. In a blur, he pulled a short sword from beneath his cloak and sped down the hallway, dodging arrows as he went. Ari dropped his bow and pulled two arrows out of his quiver which turned into short swords with a single word. As the drow came near he threw one of the swords in a helpless attempt to slow him down. The drow twisted in midair, avoiding the sword by an inch. He landed silently and twisted his sword around with lightening speed, bringing it toward Ari's  head. Blocking it easily, Ari forced the drow's sword back towards  him  and in the same motion kicked him in the chest sending him back down the hall where he landed with a sickening crunch. The drow lay motionless. When he didn't get back up, Ari collected his bow and the other sword which had turned back into an arrow. He put the arrows back in his quiver and followed the sound of the fighting. Near the end of the hall he found two more dead drow. He collected their arrows and stepped over them to go down the stairs. He descended slowly, picking up a length of rope off the ground as he went. He knocked an arrow and tied one end of the rope to its tip then tied the other end to his waist.
    He went down many flights of steps. He turned on a landing and ran down the length of the corridor,terror creeping over him. When he got to the end where a large window stood, he threw a near by vase at it. The glass shattered leaving a decent sized hole. Ari began picking off the rest of the pieces, quickening his pace because of the footsteps he heard coming. The hole was now big enough for him to fit through without cutting himself. Aiming his bow at the building across from him he pulled back on the string and released. The arrow dug itself deep into the bricks. Ari gave the rope an experimental tug. When it held, he climbed up onto the sill and crouched down ready to jump. Just before he leapt, a drow appeared at his shoulder. The drow grabbed him around the waist and slammed him back onto the floor. Ari tried to get up but suddenly there were six drow all holding him down. Then a bag was shoved over his head and an intense smell wafted up his nostrils. He started to feel sleepy and relaxed. He stopped struggling for he could no longer see the need to. He just let himself drift off into unconsciousness.

   I don't know if any of you have read Eragon and the two sequels but i have and i just got info on the new one that's coming out. im really excited

writing part 2

   just in case  anyone is interested im going to start posting one chapter of the book im writing every once and awhile so you can read them. if you want to say anything like constructive criticism please feel free to comment. All comments help even if its with name choices or something small like that. :)

my lifelong competition

    This person at school named hannah is constantly trying to beat me at everything because she thinks im really smart so she likes to be smarter. Truthfully im not really that smart i think i just pay attention to the problems more. Anyway, in the exit exam prep class she was really mad at me for getting every question right away. Everytime i got an answer before her she would get really mad and so this went back and forth until our teacher told us to stop haha.

writing

i began writing back in like 5th or 6th grade. None of my stories were very good. The names were so bad that im not even going to mention it. Then in 7th grade i met my friend justine. she was writing to and i learned a lot from her. after that i kept writing and now i have lots of different ideas but not finished books. none of them were very interesting so i keep starting over. right now i only have one but im already getting tired of the idea so i might start a new one.

drawing

    So i started out drawing avatar the last airbender characters and i liked drawing in the anime style so much that i started trying to draw my own anime(actually the drawings are called manga). it is hard but its really fun, and a lot of people are telling me that if you draw anime first then its easier to draw normal people. so im going to try to master anime so that i can learn normal drawing better and then i can illustrate my book that im writing :)its easier to illustrate your own book because you can get your own ideas in your book rather then someone trying to recreate the ideas in your head but not really succeeding.

sticky popcorn thing i was eating

     So today i ate some caramel corn and it was very sticky.i tried to open my mouth but it was almost glued shut. but it was so delicious that i had some more and some more. it was soooo amazing i loved it. Then i went to technology class and my teacher wouldnt let me eat while on the computer so i had to eat first then i got on the computer and started this blog. I think i want to eat some more  caramel corn.
 btw this blog was the kid sitting next to me's idea.

Technology

    Has anyone noticed how much our nation relys on technology these days? Almost every kid has a cell phone. Just the other day i saw a 2nd grader txting! It was sort of sad. Just think, if someone found a way to knock out all our power or technology then we would be defenseless. Our cars, planes, all our transportation would be ruined. We wouldn't be able to transport citizens to a safe place and our army would be useless without all their high tech gear. People would freak out and the entire country would be in chaos.
                                    What would you do if all your technology didnt work anymore

Jullian Smith

    Has anyone ever heard of Jullian Smith?(i hope i spelled that right) Hes a guy on youtube that posts a lot of really hilarious videos. above are two of them. At first i thought he was kind ofannoying but after you watch the videos a lot they become really funny. I think you should all check out his videos on youtube.

OAD:obsessive avatar disorder

    So i go through phases. Sometimes im obsessed with a certain book or sometimes a certain movie or tv show. Right now i cant stop watching a show called Avatar the last Airbender. Its an anime show on nickalodeon. Technically its not actually anime because it was written by americans but its done in the anime style. I really like it but im sure a little later ill move on to something else. Anyway, lately ive been watching it on my computer and attempting to draw the characters. I have never been a very good artist but i think drawing anime is easier then trying to draw real people. But anyway i think anyone who is reading this should check out the show, its really awesome.

the deadline drops

    I have started 2 books already and ive decided that i should lower the deadline too march 16. I figured unless your a really slow reader then reading five books in that long of time would be not  that hard. Ive started a book called the Orc King by RA Salvatore. Its the first in a series of i think three books. I havent gotten  very far so i cant really tell what its about yet. But im reading another book called a wizard of earthsea. Its about a boy who is a wizard and he leaves his home town to train with a master. So the book is about his whole life. Its not that amazing but its entertaining so we will see how it goes.

    So i have this problem. I can only read books that i've already read. I mean,I can every once and a while find a new really good series,but most of the time i just re-read all books i have already read.Like right now i'm reading Fablehaven by Brandon Mull,which is an amazing book by the way,and  i've all ready read through the entire series of 5 books. I have tried to "expand my horizons"as my sis and mom say but its just so hard. I try to start a new book and i just get bored because its the beginning and nothing is happening then i go back to my old book that i have read like 10 times and i never get to enjoy anything new. So im challenging myself to read 5 new books by april and i want anyone who is reading this to give me suggestions.
